Paul Bergen Junior International: Lucien Hasdenteufel Shines

BEAVERTON, Oregon, December 14. IN the final day of swimming at the short course meter Paul Bergen Junior International, Lucien Hasdenteufel shined with a title trifecta.

Women's 200 free
Heather MacLean, 16, touched out Silke Lippok, 14, 1:58.84 to 1:58.87, for the title. Alexandra Gabor, 15, placed third in 1:59.79.

Men's 200 free
Lucien Hasdenteufel, 18, claimed the win going away in 1:46.55. Yannick Agnel, 16, finished second in 1:49.47, while David Woodman, 18, took third just behind in 1:49.70.

Women's 100 breast
In another close call, Rachel Nicol, 15, touched out Bronwyn Pasloski, 16, 1:09.00 to 1:09.17, while Ashley McGregor, 15, finished third in 1:09.25.

Men's 100 breast
Troy Arnicke, 17, cruised to victory in 1:01.04, while Ryan Studebaker, 16, placed second in 1:04.24. Trevor Nicholas, 17, completed the top three in 1:04.66.

Women's 100 fly
Kendra Chernoff, 17, cleared the 1:00 barrier with a winning time of 59.94 after clocking a 59.85 during prelims. Tasha Truscott, 15, touched second in 1:00.58, while Melanie Henique, 16, grabbed third in 1:01.63.

Men's 100 fly
Andre Kudaba, 18, won in 54.86, while Jan-David Schepers placed second in 55.18 after posting a 54.50 during prelims. Anders McIntyre, 16, took third in 55.77.

Women's 50 back
Chelsea Bailey, 16, turned in a 28.26 during prelims but scratched finals. Hilary Caldwell, 17, won the finale in 28.93, while Tess Simpson, 17, finished second in 29.13. Franka Klerner, 16, snagged third in 29.55.

Men's 50 back
Morgon Henderson-Kunz, 18, claimed the title in 25.76, while Riccardo Prietzsch, 18, placed second in 25.94. Nick Karpov, 18, rounded out the top three in 26.40.

Women's 200 IM
Paige Schultz, 17, eased through the medley for a convincing win in 2:13.66, while Deanna Matthews, 16, recorded a second-place 2:16.50. Adeline Martin, 16, placed just behind with a 2:16.58.

Men's 200 IM
Lucien Hasdenteufel, 18, earned a second triumph in 2:00.13, while Jan-David-Schepers took second in 2:00.94. Daniel Jensen, 17, wound up third in 2:03.00.

Women's 800 free
Haley Anderson, 17, captured the distance title in 8:30.80, while Savannah King, 16, touched second in 8:34.06. Lindsay Seemann, 16, placed third in 8:41.37.

Men's 1500 free
In the other distance event, Brandon Kingston, 17, conquered the field in 15:23.17, while Aimeson King, 17, took second in 15:26.64. Yannick Agnel, 16, completed the podium in 15:26.72.

Women's 400 medley relay
The team of Franka Klerner, Jessica Steiger, Traina Raezke and Kerstin Lange won in 4:11.86. Hilary Caldwell, Bronwyn Pasloski, Kathy Qu and Alexandra Gabor placed second in 4:11.92, while Jessie Olson-Heisler, Allison Long, Kirsten Weevers and Sadie Mattson finished third in 4:14.27.

Men's 400 medley relay
Riccardo Prietzsch, Troy Arnicke, Jan-David Schepers and Lucien Hasdenteufel earned the win in 3:42.06, while Lee Fladhamer, Daniel Blattler, Eric Anderson and David Woodman touched second in 3:49.21. James McQuade, Zachary Somjen, Anders McIntyre and Benjamin Christie took third in 3:49.25.
