Park Will Attend Dankook University

GYEONGGI Province, Korea, September 4. HIS focus set on winning the gold medal in the 400-meter freestyle at next year's Olympic Games in Beijing, Korea's Tae Hwan Park has decided to attend Dankook University. The school announced that Park will become a student next year and vowed to back Park in the runup to the Olympics and beyond.

A hot commodity for public relations reasons, Park was also pursued by Yonsei University, Korea University and the Korea National Sports University. Park has made it clear that his primary goal for 2008 is to win Olympic gold in the 400 free. Park, the reigning world champ in the event, has also indicated that he's confident he can break Ian Thorpe's world record. Park is also considered an Olympic medal contender in the 200 free and 1500 free.
