Paralympic Swimmer Rudy Garcia-Tolson Also Named to U.S. Paralympic Track & Field Team

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, July 5. LOST amidst the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials last week was the fact that three-time Paralympic swimmer Rudy Garcia-Tolson has signed up for double duty at the 2012 Paralympics in London after earning his way onto the U.S. Paralympic Track & Field Team as well.

Garcia-Tolson, who was born with several birth defects including Pterygium Syndrome as well as webbed fingers on both hands and a cleft lip and palate, has already earned a pair of Paralympic gold medals in swimming. He topped the 200 IM in 2004, and the 100 beast in 2008 in his Paralympic divisions.

On July 1, U.S. Paralympic Track & Field announced that he made the squad in the T42 division. This selection will give Garcia-Tolson a truly loaded schedule heading into London.
