IRVINE, California, August 20. THE U.S. foursome of Natalie Coughlin (54.25), Jessica Hardy (53.43), Amanda Weir (53.85) and Dana Vollmer (53.58) dominated the women's 400 free relay during the third night of swimming at the Pan Pacific Championships.

The quartet clocked a time of 3:35.11 for the gold medal, which also cleared the Pan Pacific meet record time of 3:35.80 set by the U.S. back in 2006.

Australia's Yolane Kukla, Emily Seebohm, Alicia Coutts and Felicity Galvez took second overall in 3:38.06, while Canada's Victoria Poon, Julia Wilkinson, Erica Morningstar and Genevieve Saumur finished third in 3:38.14. Japan (3:38.86) and New Zealand (3:42.15) also fielded teams in the finale.
