Ouachita Baptist Defeats Lambuth, Rhodes

JACKSON, Tenn, January 20. THE Ouachita TigerSharks and Lady TigerSharks Swimming and Diving teams rolled on in their preparations for the NSISC meet with wins over Lambuth and Rhodes in a dual meet hosted by Lambuth.

The TigerSharks defeated Lambuth 111-5 and topped Rhodes 104-16 while the Lady TigerSharks defeated Lambuth 105-14 and easily defeated Rhodes 100-14.

Out of the 28 events in the meet – 14 for the men and 14 for the women – Ouachita took first place in all but one of the events, even with swimmers competing in events that they have not competed in all season.

For the Lady TigerSharks, seven different swimmers took first place. Four Lady TigerSharks – Aja Ayres, Emily Looney, Syd Barker and Lisa White – took first place in two events. Cindy Allred, Kelly McGowan, and Louise Griffin also picked up first-place points for Ouachita.

For the men the point earnings were even more spread out. 10 different TigerSharks took first place in the meet with two swimmers taking first place in two different events. Justin Boyd and Chris Achey earned dual first-place finishes for the men.

Ouachita also swept the four relays between the men’s and women’s meets.
