Oregon 5A High School State Championships

GRESHAM, Oregon, March 2. CRESCENT Valley won the Oregon 5A High School Girls State Championships with 76 points, followed by Corvallis (47) and Summit (39). The Summit boys took first (100) while Hillsboro placed second (75) and Corvallis finished third (34).

Girls Results
Jenna Moore, Caitlyn Belza, Suzanne Foster, and Brooke Walsh (Summit) teamed up for a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:54.83). Foster also won the 100 butterfly (59.54).

Kaila Lee (Williamette) won the sprint races. She clocked times of 23.45 and 51.33 respectively.

Senior Sloan Storie of Corvallis finished first in the 200 (1:52.75) and the 500 (5:01.11) freestyles.

Crescent Valley won the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:40.82. Erika Twenge, Samantha Lui, Erin Schoper, and Jordan Iverson contributed to the win. Iverson also won the 100 breaststroke (1:04.34).

Mountain View’s Kristyn Deckard had first-place finishes in the 200 IM (2:06.50) and the 100 backstroke (56.29).

Twenge, Claire Krizan, Schoper, and Iverson clocked a 3:40.92 for a win in the 400 freestyle relay.

Boys Results
Juniors Nic Morrell and Mason Allen joined seniors Alex Timm and Anthony Corso in the 200 medley relay. The group clocked a 1:38.50 for a first-place finish. Morrell won the 200 freestyle (1:40.61) and the 100 backstroke (50.77), while Allen took first in the 100 butterfly (51.15) and the 100 breaststroke (59.37).

Anhton Tran, Kyle Butcher, Tomas Mendez-Beck, and Austin Ringquist won the 200 freestyle relay (1:28.83). Ringquist also won the 200 IM (1:54.45).

Hillsboro’s Aaron Young won the 50 (21.99) and the 100 (48.19) freestyles. He joined Butcher, Tran, and Ringquist with a first-place finishing time of 3:14.43 in the 400 freestyle relay.
