Olympian Longhorn Dave Walters Claims Cover Of Swimming World’s March Issue

PHOENIX, Arizona, March 3. WHO will emerge victorious in the upcoming men's and women's NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships? This question is tackled by Swimming World's senior writer John Lohn and managing editor Jason Marsteller in the March issue of Swimming World.

Lohn claims the University of Texas will prevail in the men's championship. Based upon a strong core of returning talent, including Olympians Dave Walters and Ricky Berens, according to Lohn the Longhorns are his hunch to beat out a very strong Stanford team for the top spot.

On the women's side, the University of Arizona is picked to repeat last year's performance in winning a second consecutive championship. By virtue of returning the most point scorers of any top 10 team from a year ago, the Wildcats look like a good bet to add another championship banner to their trophy case in Tucson. As with the men's title chase, Stanford is again seen as the runners-up in the women's meet.
