Ohio State Swim Club Announces Commitments of Grace Cherryhomes, Alli McFarland, Sage Moore

NEW COMMITS: The Ohio State Swim Club, led by head coach Kyle Goodrich, has recently announced the commitments of three seniors who will join their respective college programs in the fall of 2019.

Grace Cherryhomes has committed to Saginaw Valley State University, Alli McFarland will head to the University of Tampa, and Sage Moore has selected the University of Evansville.

A native of Pickerington, Cherryhomes is a strong sprinter and most recently recorded a pair of best times at Indianapolis Speedo Sectionals. At the Northwest Ohio Classic in December, she finished 13th in the 50 free and 19th in the 100 free. Also competing for Pickerington North High School, she won the 100 free and was the 50 free runner-up at the Ohio Division Championships during her senior season.

She told Swimming World:

“I chose to spend my next four years at Saginaw Valley State University because of the amazing staff throughout the school, the beautiful campus and I was extremely impressed by the swim team. #gocardinals”

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 24.60
  • 100 free – 54.23
  • 100 fly – 58.06
  • 200 IM – 2:10.64

Alli McFarland

Hailing from Lexington, McFarland is primarily a breaststroker and was the runner-up in the 100 breast at the Northwest Ohio Classic back in December after earning 100% best times at 2018 Akron Speedo Sectionals. While representing Lexington High School, McFarland placed 13th in the 100 breast and 16th in the 200 IM at the Ohio State Championships during her senior campaign.

She told Swimming World:

“I am so happy to announce my commitment to continue both my academic and athletic career at The University of Tampa! I’m very grateful for my family, coaches, and friends who have supported and helped me achieve my goals along the way! Excited to spend the next four years as a Spartan!”

Her best times include:

  • 50 breast – 20.50
  • 100 breast – 1:05.82
  • 200 breast – 2:23.92
  • 200 IM – 2:08.02

Sage Moore

Like McFarland, Moore is also a Lexington native and a strong breaststroker/IMer who recently earned 100% lifetime bests at Indianapolis Speedo Sectionals. This past long course season, she competed in a trio of events at Spire Speedo Sectionals. During her senior year, she finished fifth in the 100 breast for Lexington High School at the Northwest Ohio DII District meet to qualify for the Ohio State Championships.

She told Swimming World:

“So happy to announce my commitment to the University of Evansville and continuing both my academic and athletic career. Thank you to all my wonderful coaches, friends and family who helped me achieve my goals. Go purple aces!!

  • 100 breast – 1:10.20
  • 200 breast – 2:24.38
  • 200 IM – 2:10.96
  • 50 free – 25.29
