Novo Nordisk Sprint Cup To Be Broadcast on Fox Sports Net Beginning Tomorrow; Gary Hall Jr. on “Sports Show” Tonight

PHOENIX, Dec. 7. THE Novo Nordisk Sprint Cup, one of the most exciting and innovative swim meets ever, will be broadcast to over 54 million households on Fox Sports Net beginning tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 8.

The broadcasts will take place over a three-week period and will be broadcast in 15 different Fox Sports markets in the USA. For the date and time of the broadcast in your area, see the listing below.

The Novo Nordisk Sprint Cup was the brainchild of triple Olympic gold medalist, Gary Hall, Jr., who will talk about it this evening on Fox Sports' "The Best Damn Sports Show."

The Sprint cup took place in East Meadow, New York, on October 20. It brought together 54 of the world’s greatest sprinters who competed on three teams – Stars and Stripes, European Union and World – for the coveted, silver Novo Nordisk Sprint Cup.

The events, held in a 25-meter pool, were limited to sprints: 25 and 50 meter free; 50m back, breast and fly; 100m individual medley; and 4 x 50m freestyle and medley relays. Only three swimmers qualified for finals in each event.

Sponsored by Novo Nordisk, one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, the meet was held to promote increased awareness of diabetes and its treatment. Gary Hall, Jr. suffers from the disease, yet still is able to swim at the highest level of international competition.
