Northwestern Announces Endowment Campaign Kickoff

EVANSTON, Illinois, January 10. NORTHWESTERN's swimming and diving programs are launching an endowment campaign with a kickoff event beginning at 6 p.m. CT Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at the James Allen Center on Northwestern's Evanston campus.

The Wildcats' campaign will serve to build on past successes, enhance current abilities and protect the future of both programs. Northwestern aims to be on par with the nation's top programs, allowing itself to put resources where they are needed the most.

By getting involved in the endowment campaign, donors will help Northwestern enhance its student-athlete experience, recruit at a higher level, travel to more and better competitions as well as cover all of the costs associated with the annual training trip.

Many former Wildcat letterwinners, coaches and All-Americans have joined together to form an endowment committee, enlisting the help of such alums as NU NCAA Champion and Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist Matt Grevers to help launch the campaign.

The Kickoff Event will take place following the 11 a.m. CT men's meet against Big Ten foe Iowa at the Norris Aquatics Center. The NU women will swim against Iowa and Harvard in the meet.
