No. 2 TEXAS MEN’S SWIMMING UNDEFEATED ON WEEKEND; No. 10 TEXAS WOMEN’S SWIMMING POSTS 2-1 RECORD

AUSTIN, TX – The No. 2-ranked University of Texas men’s swimming team posted three dual-meet wins while the No. 10 UT women went 2-1 against Arizona, Miami and Texas A&M after concluding two days of competition Saturday afternoon at the Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas.

The Texas men posted convincing wins over No. 5 Arizona (273-109), No. 13 Texas A&M (248-145) and No. 23 Miami (317-72). The Longhorn women handled No. 24 Texas A&M (244-136) and Miami (270.5-111.5) and were defeated by No. 3 Arizona, 218-169. The UT men’s win over Texas A&M was the program’s 20th without a defeat under head coach Eddie Reese.

The Longhorn men (4-2) earned individual wins from sophomore Nate Dusing (Villa Hills, Ky. / Covington Catholic HS) in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 1:48.74; senior Jeff Livingston (Dallas, Texas / Highland Park HS) in the 200 breaststroke (2:04.70); and freshman Troy Dumais (Ventura, Calif. / Buena HS) on the 10-meter platform (555.30).
