Nick Arakelian Smashes 400 IM NCAA D2 Record

Original Report on 400 IM

Queens’ Nick Arakelian absolutely obliterated the NCAA D2 record in the men’s 400-yard IM with a time of 3:43.84.

Once Arakelian got through the butterfly leg, there was little doubt he was going to demolish the record as he blew the rest of the field out of the water.

The swim erased the 3:47.62 set by Wayne State’s Piotr Jachowicz back in 2013.

Cal Baptist’s Josh Hanson finished second overall tonight in 3:51.40 with West Chester’s Michael Oliver earning third in 3:51.97 in what proved to be a close fight for second.

Drury remained in the team-title lead with 132 points, while Lindenwood stood second with 130 points.  Queens made a jump up the ladder to third with 124.5 points, while Grand Valley stood fourth with 111 points.
