NCAP’s Laura Branton Headed to Georgia Tech

OAKTON, Virginia, September 25. With teammate Robyn Dryer headed to North Carolina, NCAP’s Laura Branton also made her commitment and will be headed to Georgia Tech in the Class of 2015.

Branton, the fifth-ranked swimmer in the State of Virginia by CollegeSwimming.com, preps at Oakton High School in Vienna, Va., and will bring a strong butterfly to the Yellow Jackets in a year’s time.

Branton has a 54.66 in the 100-yard fly and a 1:58.68 in the 200-yard fly from the previous year, while also owning a 1:02.58 in the 100-meter fly and a 2:17.81 in the 200-meter fly from the 2013 long course season.

Branton also brings some sprint speed to the table with a 23.58 in the 50-yard free and a 50.79 in the 100-yard free, and could do some damage on Georgia Tech’s sprint medley relay with a 24.98 in the 50-yard fly and a 28.56 in the 50-meter fly.

Branton is another NCAP swimmer who should see some significant time drops at the Tom Dolan Invitational this December, webcast live on SwimmingWorld.TV.
