NCAA Water Polo: Stanford Defeats Pepperdine, 7-4

MALIBU, CA – Pasi Dutton’s goal with 5:50 remaining in the fourth quarter snapped a 4-4 tie and helped lift #2 ranked Stanford to an 8-5 win over #5 ranked Pepperdine in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game.

Holding a 5-4 lead, Jeremiah Robison scored a key two-point goal on a lob shot from eight meters out to give the Cardinal a 7-4 advantage with 3:48 left in the game.

It marked the 500th win for Cardinal head coach Dante Dettamanti who is in his 22th season at Stanford. In 28 seasons overall as a college head coach, Dettamanti has amassed 596 career wins.
