NCAA Men’s Swimming: #4 Cal Defeats Pacific

Berkeley, CA – The No. 4 ranked California men’s swim team (10-1) defeated Pacific (5-9), 153-99, Wednesday at Spieker Aquatics Complex on the Cal campus.

The Bears captured 13 of the meet’s 14 events, led by double-winner Bart Kizierowski, who won both the 50 freestyle (20.09) and the 100 butterfly (47.19). Cal also took first place in both relay races.

The Bears swept the top three places in the 100 breaststroke, with Andrew Chan (55.96) out-swimming teammates Matt Messmer (56.78) and Daniel Kim (56.93). Cal also finished 1-2-3 in the 50 free, paced by Kizierowski. Trent Holsman took second in 20.91, while Anthony Ervin was third in 21.00.

Cal’s next competition is Saturday , Feb. 19 versus Stanford at 1 p.m. at either the Koret Center on the University of San Francisco campus or at Spieker Aquatics Complex.
