NCAA Div. I Women: UCLA Upends San Diego

THE UCLA women's swimming and diving team improved to 2-0 last Saturday, November 4 at the Men's Gym Pool, posting a 182-90 dual meet victory over the University of San Diego. Diving events were contested at Sunset Canyon Recreation Center.

A UCLA athlete won every event of the 16-event dual meet format, with senior Beth Goodwin checking in as the only competitor to win multiple individual events. Goodwin took the 200 Fly with a time of 2:05.64, and
the 100 Free in 52.20.

Freshman sprinter Sarah Platzer won the 50 Free in a time of 23.63, and was the runner-up in the 500 Free with a time of 4:57.95.

UCLA returns to action on Friday, November 10 with its Pac-10 opener against Arizona State. Swimming events are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at Men's Gym Pool. UCLA will also host Arizona for a Pac-10 dual meet on
Saturday, Nov. 11 at noon.
