NCAA Div. I Women: Texas A&M Downs Ohio State

HONOLULU, Hawaii. Jan. 3. THE 24th-ranked Texas A&M women's swimming team defeated Ohio State by a score of 128.5-114.5 in dual meet competition on December 21 at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex on
the campus of the University of Hawaii.

Michele Riggins, a junior from Glendale, Ariz., was the top scorer for A&M with three first-place finishes. The biology major swam a time of 24.85 in the 50-yard freestyle, 52.91 in the 100-yard free
and 1:53.49 in the 200-yard free.

In the 800-yard free, Kimarie Durso, a junior from Dallas, Texas, took first place with a time of 8:14.39, while teammate Clara Ho took the top spot in the 50-yard butterfly (26.10) and the 100-yard fly
(57.26).

The final event of the meet was a 500-yard crescendo freestyle relay. This relay consists of a 50-, 100-, 150- and 200-yard freestyle legs. The team of Ho, Michelle Bird, Durso and Riggins took first place with a time of 4:40.98.

The Aggies are now 6-0 in dual meet competition and 1-0 in Big 12 competition.
