NCAA Div. I Men: Princeton Tigers Make a Meal of Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H., Jan. 7. JAMIE Leahy and Juan Valdivieso each won two events to lead Princeton to a 149-89 victory over Dartmouth in men's swimming and diving on Sunday. The meet featured a number of unusual events.

Leahy won the 25 yard free (10.65) and the 50 free (21.89) while Valdivieso won the 100 fly (53.05) and the 400 free (3:43.64).

The Tigers (6-0) swept several events, taking nine out of 13. Patrick Donahue, John Evans, Craig Wales and Leahy won the 300-medley relay (2:35.26). Lance Needham led the Princeton sweep of the 800 IM with a time of 8:40.55.

Nathan Rebuck won the 100 free (47.84) followed by Jim Nash and Ryan Erickson. Steve Fleming, Patrick Donahue and Jim Nash swept the 100 back. Eric Carty-Fickes won the 3-meter dive (271.95) followed by Michael Sullivan in second place (265.20).

Thomas Sanford was one of two Dartmouth winners this day, taking the 100 breast in a swift 55.29. Scott Brown took the one meter dive.
