National Junior Team Ready for Action

MELBOURNE, Australia, January 1. THE United States National Junior Team has left for Melbourne, Australia, where it will compete beginning Tuesday at the Victorian Championships. The squad will do battle with Junior National squads from Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and Fiji.

While several elite Australian stars are slated to swim, including breaststroker Brooke Hanson, the meet will provide the U.S. National Junior Team with critical experience, as some of the members of the squad are sure to represent the Stars and Stripes at the international level in the future. The site of the Victorian Championships is also the host location of the Commonwealth Games in March and the World Championships in 2007.

Here are the members of the U.S. squad:
