Tianna Jorgenson will become an Air Force Cadet next year, making a verbal commitment to enter military service after finishing up her senior year at Crean Lutheran High School.

Jorgenson was a part of the 400 free relay that set the national independent high school record this past May at the inaugural California state champion with a 3:20.03. Jorgenson split 51.35 on the second leg of the relay. At that meet, she was 10th in the 50 free with a 23.62 for a lifetime best.

Jorgenson’s lifetime best in the 100-yard freestyle is 51.67 from December 2014 while representing SOCA Aquatics Association. That time would barely get her into the top 16 at the California state meet, but would deliver points for Crean Lutheran that they’ll need after the graduation of Ella Eastin last spring.

“I come from a military family so I’ve always had the idea of wanting to serve,” Jorgenson told the Orange County Register. “I can’t wait to officially be part of the Falcon family when Cadet training starts in June 2016!”
