It's Day Two at the 8th FINA World Swimming Championships in Shanghai and the competition is fierce. Though I'm not in Shanghai competing, I'm home in California keeping an eye out for the results online, I can already tell there is going to be a lot of exciting action in the pool today.

The women's 100m freestyle semi final today is going to be a huge race. Libby Lenton of Australia, who swam the fastest ever leg (1:53.78) in the 4x200m freestyle relay anchoring the Aussie girls home to gold last night, is going up against fellow Team Speedo swimmer Hanna-Maria Seppala of Finland. Libby has been swimming so fast these past two years and she just keeps getting faster. Look for her to place well in this semi.

Today is also a big day for the women competing in an event I know well – the 100m backstroke. There are a bunch of athletes to look out for and all the competitors in this event are really strong ….
