NEW COMMIT: Connor Dalbo, a senior at Green Hope High School, has given his verbal commitment to swim for Southern Methodist University beginning in the 2018-2019 season. Dalbo is from Cary, North Carolina and swims for the Marlins of Raleigh. He’s a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.

A breaststroker and IMer, his top times include:

  • 50 Breast 26.97
  • 100 Breast 57.39
  • 200 Breast 2:02.81
  • 400 IM 4:04.80
  • 200 IM 1:56.48

All of those lifetime bests were set last spring as Dalbo swam well at NCSA Junior Nationals and then held onto the fast swimming to go a few more best times at the next weekend’s Tar Heel States.

At last year’s North Carolina 4A High School states, Dalbo split a 26.68 on the breaststroke leg of Green Hope’s fourth place 200 medley relay. He also touched sixth in the 100 breast (57.74).

At last year’s American Athletic Conference Championships Dalbo would have been a 100 and 200 breast, and 400 IM B finalist.

He wrote on Twitter,

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim for SMU next fall! I want to thank everyone for the support along the way. #ponyup”
