MOR’s Breaststroker Kathryn Sanders Commits to Illinois

NEW COMMIT: Kathryn Sanders of Cary, NC, has committed to swim for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign beginning this fall. Sanders is a senior at Green Hope High School and does her club swimming for the Marlins of Raleigh.

Sanders has continued to drop time through her senior spring, setting a new personal best in the 100 breaststroke and the 400 IM in March. She also earned a new lifetime best in the 200 IM at her NCHSAA 4A Regional meet in February.

At the 2018 NCHSAA 4A State Championships in February Sanders swam the breaststroke leg of Green Hope’s sixth place 200 medley relay, and swam on the fourth place 400 freestyle relay. Individually she finished 15th in the 200 IM (2:10.93) and 21st in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.21).

200 IM 2:09.84
400 IM 4:38.47
