Morning Swim Show: Ricky Berens Relives Thrill of Texas Team Title in 2010

PHOENIX, Arizona, March 25. OUR series of interviews with past NCAA champions continues on today's edition of The Morning Swim Show with relay national champion Ricky Berens.

The University of Texas alum was a part of two intense 800 free relay victories for the Longhorns in 2009 and 2010. In 2009, he and his teammates set the current American record, and the 2010 victory gave the team the momentum needed to win the overall team title that year. Berens, who began to focus on the 200 free after his freshman year at Texas, details what it's like to swim three 200 freestyles in one day at the NCAA meet, and what it meant for him to celebrate a team title in 2010. He also talks about his recent American record swim in the 200-yard freestyle, and how he hopes it will motivate the current Longhorn squad this week at the NCAA championships.
