Morning Swim Show: Megan Romano, the Epitome of Perseverance

PHOENIX, Arizona, December 9. ON today’s edition of The Morning Swim Show, Megan Romano looks back on her successful year in the pool that came after heartbreak at the Olympic Trials.

Romano’s performances in 2013 earned her two Golden Goggle Awards, for Perseverance and Relay Performance. Romano talks about how missing out on the Olympic team gave her the motivation to swim fast in 2013, and what it was like to swim the anchor leg in the winning 400 free relay at the world championships. She also talks about her first few months as a postgrad swimmer at the University of Georgia, where she’ll likely train alone while the college students are prepping for the conference and NCAA championships.
