Morning Swim Show: Lisa Bratton On Meeting Michael Phelps, Todd Stafek on Guiding Bratton to Pan Pac Team

PHOENIX, Arizona, September 5. LISA Bratton had a whirlwind month in August, jetsetting to Australia for the Pan Pacific championships then returning to the United States to immediately begin her freshman year at Texas A&M University. On today’s edition of The Morning Swim Show Bratton talks about swimming in Australia and is joined by her Tri-City Channel Cats coach Todd Stafek.

Though the weather presented some difficulties for Bratton and others at Pan Pacs, the biggest issue for the backstroker was swimming outdoors and holding on to a second taper. She was thrilled to be a part of a national team that included superstars such as Katie Ledecky and Missy Franklin and talked about meeting Michael Phelps officially over breakfast one morning.

Stafek discussed the preparation for nationals and the goals he and Bratton set for the meet. He also talks about the effect Bratton’s success has had on the Tri-City Channel Cats, including a large number of children trying out for the team.
