Morning Swim Show: How Rubber Ducks Can Help Save Middletown YMCA’s Pool

PHOENIX, Arizona, September 3. THE pool at Middletown YMCA in New York state is falling into disrepair and is in danger of shutting down after 60 years of serving the community. On today’s edition of The Morning Swim Show we hear about the efforts to save the pool through a fundraising campaign that could help give the pool a much-needed upgrade.

Greg Hogan is the president of the board of directors at Middletown YMCA, and he talks about the tough decision to close down a pool that has taught thousands of children to swim, trained hundreds of lifeguards and has beena cornerstone of the community. Charlie Graham was one of those kids who learned to swim at Middletown YMCA, and he spoke of the fundraising effort through the popular crowdfunding site Indiegogo.com, with the bonus of allowing donors to be a part of a Guinness World Record through their donations.
