Montgomery Bell’s Maclin Davis Downs National High School Record in 100 Fly

NASHVILLE, Tennessee, February 10. DURING prelims of the Tennessee State High School Championships, hosted by the Nashville Aquatic Club, Montgomery Bell's Maclin Davis downed the national high school record in the boys 100-yard fly.

Davis blazed the preliminary swim with a remarkable time of 46.64. That swim downed the national high school record of 47.08 set by Sean Fletcher of Madison High in Virginia in 2009. Fletcher's time will stand as the public school record as Montgomery Bell Academy is an independent school. Davis' effort also cleared Nate Dusing's independent school standard of 47.10 set for Covington Catholic in Kentucky back in 1997.

Davis is headed to Southern California when he matriculates to college athletics.
