PHOENIX, July 30. IN 2000, Misty Hyman pulled off one of the greatest upsets in Olympic history, winning the 200 fly in Olympic record time, and defeating Australia's "Madame Butterfly," Susie O'Neill — invincible the previous six years — before a stunned hometown crowd of almost 20,000 and a worldwide television audience of more than one billion.

This year, beset by injuries and illness, Misty failed to make the US Olympic team.
