Missy Franklin Lands on Sports Illustrated’s Twitter 100

PHOENIX, Arizona, September 25. THE third annual Twitter 100 list from Sports Illustrated features world champion Missy Franklin’s Twitter account as a top feed to follow for the latest in sports news and infotainment.

“With shared photos of close friends and family, and shout outs to favorite spots in her Colorado community, Franklin’s Twitter feed perfectly reflects the journey of a young girl growing up as an Olympic champion,” Sports Illustrated wrote about the reasons why Franklin’s Twitter feed has its writers hooked. “With followers such as Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker, Franklin has no problem expressing her enthusiasm for her favorite Colorado sports teams — oh, and Bill Nye the Science Guy.”

Franklin, who is about a month into her freshman year at California-Berkeley, is just the second swimmer to be featured on this list, now in its third year. Natalie Coughlin was a part of the Twitter 100 list in its inaugural year in 2011.
