Michigan Senior Circuit Challenge Comes to a Close

ANN ARBOR, Michigan, July 14. WITH the bulk of the top-flight talent from Club Wolverine electing to sit out the final day of long course meter swimming at the Michigan Senior Circuit Challenge, several other swimmers ran right through the open door.

In the distance freestyle events, Lucy Redgrove of Surrey Park claimed the women's 1500 free in 17:22.16, while Shane Lichtenberg of the Oakland Live Y'ers won the men's 1500 free. Lichtenberg, a National Club Swimming Association (NCSA) All-American, won by nearly 20 seconds with a time of 16:20.09.

Lichtenberg's teammate, Agnieszka came out on top of the women's 200 back in 2:22.26, while Cincinnati Marlin Brian Howell took the men's 200 back in 2:11.87.

Emily Bos of the West Michigan Swimmers beat Club Wolverine's Liz Koselka, 58.76 to 59.33, for the 100 free title, while Nicholas Sprenger touched out Jamie Martone of Club Wolverine, 52.28 to 52.57, for the men's 100 free crown.

Dana Christ, who shared highpointer awards with teammate Lichtenberg at the NCSA All-American meet (as featured in the upcoming August issue of Swimming World Magazine), easily won the 200 fly in 2:22.61, while Cincinnati Marlin David Mosko pocketed the men's 200 fly in 2:04.16.
