Micah Bohon Commits to Swim For Tennessee Lady Volunteers

SUMMERVILLE, South Carolina, November 4. THE University of Tennessee today picked up a verbal commitment of Micah Bohon. Bohon, a sprinter and backstroker from South Carolina, will be a big add for Matt Kredich’s Lady Volunteers. The second-ranked recruit out of South Carolina according to CollegeSwimming.com. She is currently a senior at Ashley Ridge High School in Summerville and swims for coach Dave Horton at Mount Pleasant Swim Club.

Bohon announced her commitment on Twitter tonight. Bohon wrote: “Officially committed to be a Tennessee VOL tonight!! So excited!!😍🏊 GO VOLS!”

Bohon put up a pair of impressive swims at her high school state championships last month. She clocked 55.18 in the 100 back, destroying her previous lifetime best of 56.80 from last year. She also cut more than two seconds from her top time in the 200 IM, dropping from 2:06.56 to 2:04.26. With a chance to swim some of her other events later this season, she could cut considerable time from her current short course yards times. On her r?sum? she currently has a 24.01 in the 50 free, 52.45 in the 100 free, a 2:04.73 200 back, and 56.94 in the 100 fly.

Bohon had an extremely strong long course season this past summer, swimming five events at Junior Nationals. She swam the 100 free (58.09), 100 back (1:04.02), 200 back (2:19.28), 100 fly (1:03.13), and 200 IM (2:19.89) at the Woollett Aquatic Center in Irvine this summer.
