Men’s NCAA Championships, Day One: Tennessee’s Jevon Tarantino Wins One-Meter Diving Crown

EAST MEADOW, New York, March 25. THE SEC dominated the first diving event of this championship just as they did the women’s diving last week, taking five of the top spots.

Tennessee scored with freshman Jevon Tarantino winning the 1-m springboard event with 388.65 points to nip South Carolina’s Andy Bradley by fewer than four points. Another Tennessee Vol, Phil Jones, finished fourth.

ASU’s Joona Puhakka, who led going into the final dive, faded to third.
