Meet of the Week Recap: Indianapolis at Truman State, Second Day

KIRKSVILLE, Missouri, November 3. IT was more of the same during the second day of swimming between Indianapolis and Truman State in the Division II SwimmingWorldMagazine.com Meet of the Week. Just like yesterday, the UIndy men knocked off Truman State, 109-94, while the TSU women rolled over UIndy, 120-81.

For the men, UIndy claimed seven titles against TSU's four, while TSU's women captured eight against UIndy's three.

Alex Arestis and Alican Alacli paced Indianapolis with a pair of titles each. Arestis won the 200 free in 1:46.44, before coming back with a B-cut time to win the 100 free in 46.58. Alacli, meanwhile, topped the 200 fly (1:58.97) and 500 free (4:48.39).

Baris Ilhan also won a title for UIndy with a B-cut 9:45.35 in the 1000 free, while Marios Panagi (50 free – 21.77) and Chad Damitz (200 back – 1:58.59) also walked away with wins.

For Truman State, Alex Totura led his team with two titles. He snared the 200 IM in 1:58.70, while also leading off the 200 medley relay effort of Totura (24.74), Adam Pruess (27.40), Peter McCall (23.13) and Ryan Ferrell (21.78) that won in 1:37.05.

Kyle Ruiz snagged the 200 breast crown in 2:17.40, while Paul Wanamaker (22.74), Charles Ellertson (23.37), Darren McDivitt (22.36) and Duncan Stephens (22.28) won the 200 free relay in 1:30.75.

The Truman State picked up a commanding win with eight titles, led by Emily Greenwood's two wins. She nearly posted an A-cut in the 200 back with a B-cut time of 2:06.33, while also helping the 200 medley relay of Greenwood (27.11), Erika Anderson (31.39), Nicole Sharp (26.99) and Carina Pautz (23.78) to a win in 1:49.27.

Other winners for TSU included Molly Polette with a B-cut time of 10:43.26 in the 1000 free, Kendra Brunkow with a 1:58.22 in the 200 free, Emily Pufall with a 24.94 in the 50 free, Katie Welsh with a 2:12.73 in the 200 IM, Anna Grinter with a B-cut time of 2:10.52 in the 200 fly and Stephanie Robinson with a 5:21.67 in the 500 free.

Additionally, Kate Aherne clocked B cuts in the 200 IM (2:10.38), 100 free (53.57) and 50 free (24.29r), while Whitney Wodstrchill (200 back – 2:06.57) and Emily Buss (200 breast – 2:25.27) also notched B cuts.

UIndy's women were led by Isabela Tafur with a B-cut time of 53.71 to win the 100 free, while Rachel Costello earned the 200 breast title in 2:35.37. Also, Tafur (24.80), Casey Owen (25.31), Erica Smith (25.42) and Valerie Crosby (24.63) pocketed the 200 free relay title in 1:40.16.
