PHOENIX, Arizona, October 9. ON top of the Incarnate Word, New Orleans match-up, we will be featuring the Southwestern at McMurry meet in the SwimmingWorldMagazine.com Meet of the Week series this weekend.

Here is a quick preview of the match-up:

Date and Time: Saturday, October 11 at 1 p.m. CST
Location: Abilene, Texas
Facility: Phillips Family Center

Southwestern's Last Time Out:
Southwestern has yet to compete this year. The first meet of the year will take place at home against Houston the night before the SwimmingWorldMagazine.com Meet of the Week.

Looking forward with Southwestern's head coach Steve Brandt:
I'm really excited to get the season started. I think it's going to be a really good, competitive meet. Our women's teams have traditionally been very close, and both programs have brought in solid first-year classes, which should elevate the caliber of the meet. On the men's side, they've definitely had the upper hand in recent years. They will still outnumber us, but we have a group that's been training really well and I expect them to step up and race them tough. We have a nice first-year class and they're definitely ready to start racing.

McMurry's Last Time Out:
Both McMurry's men's and women's teams opened the season with victories over Austin College. The men beat the Roos, 147-48, while the women claimed a 110-82 triumph.

A pair of school records fell in women's racing. Erin Johnson beat her record in the 100-yard fly with a time of 1:00.34, while Amber Perkins topped the standard in the 500-yard free with a time of 5:19.33.

Looking forward with McMurry's head coach Bev Ball:
I'm really pleased with where the teams are right now. We have a lot of freshman who have come a long way and have upped their swimming times in such a short period. They have really stepped up and provided a spark to the team. I expect a very competitive meet against Southwestern. They have a great program, and it's great exposure for our swimmers to compete against them.
