Mecklenburg Aquatic Club Breaks Fundraising Record

CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 17. MECKLENBURG Aquatic Club recently completed its annual Swim-A-Thon in record-breaking fashion, as the North Carolina club raised $117,641. That figure marked the first time a USA Swimming club exceeded the $100,000 mark. Mecklenburg held the previous record of $88,230.

A Gold Medal Club of Excellence, Mecklenburg conducted its Swim-A-Thon with a NASCAR theme and named the event the MAC 200 Swim-A-Thon. Each swimmer covered 200 laps and raised money through pledges. More than 600 swimmers took part in the event and prizes that were distributed were of a racing theme.
