Meakins Named an Assistant Coach at Cornell University

ITHACA, New York, September 28. AFTER spending more than a decade coaching at the scholastic level in Utah, Gail Meakins has been named an assistant coach of the women’s program at Cornell University, a member of the Ivy League. The announcement was made last week by John Holohan, the head coach of the women’s squad.

Meakins, a California native, spent the last four years at Judge Memorial Catholic High in Salt Lake City and the nine years prior to that tenure at Park City High. Overall, her teams won 10 state championships and she was named Coach of the Year on seven occasions. She is a former president of the Utah Swim Coaches Association.
