This has come as a shock to all who knew him. Wayde was a true Masters swimmer, a coach, an organizer, Meet Director, and most of all a friend to all he touched. Masters swimming has lost a true champion and a great leader.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

meantime, please e-mail or mail or photos, stories, recollections, and other anecdotes about Wayde to Nicki Phillips at or Her address is 4500 Yorktown Lane N,Plymouth, MN 55442.

Masters swimming will never be the same; however, we are all better off for having known Wayde. Next time you are in the water, swim a "belly-up" (backstroke) 50 for Wayde and smile – that is what he would want you to do!
