DURHAM, North Carolina, October 23. THE Maryland women's swimming and diving team came from behind to top Duke, 163-136, on the road Saturday. The men's squad was edged by the Blue Devils, 168-124.

On the women's side, Maryland (2-0, 2-0 ACC) once again swept both relays, with the team of Annie Fittin, Alexa Hamilton, Addison Koelle and Megan Lafferty winning the 200 medley (1:44.51) and Fittin, Lafferty, Glover and Jenni Roberts teamed up to capture the 400 free (3:26.95).

Glover had another stellar day, leading the Terps with wins in the 200 free (1:51.48) and 200 back (1:51.11). Fittin also won a pair of events, taking first in the 100 back (56.42) and 50 free (23.17).

The Terps went 1-2 in the 200 fly with Roger Dent capturing the event (1:52.75) and Sean Stewart taking second (1:54.08).

"The women's depth, teamwork and senior class leadership is what carried us to a victory today," head coach Sean Schimmel said. "Everyone counted. Going on the road and winning back-to-back conference dual meets in two days is definitely a challenge.

"The men's team had great composure and I was really proud of how they handled themselves today in the midst of heaving training and keeping their focus on ACCs and our championship season."

Maryland remains in conference action Friday when it plays host to North Carolina at the Eppley Recreation Center Natatorium. The dual meet is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
