Marlins of Raleigh’s Tosh Kawaguchi Headed to Eastern Michigan

CARY, North Carolina, October 9. Tosh Kawaguchi, the 12th-ranked swimmer in the State of North Carolina by CollegeSwimming.com, has decided to compete with head coach Peter Linn at Eastern Michigan.

Kawaguchi, who trains with the Marlins of Raleigh, is a versatile swimmer who has some ability in the backstroke, fly, IM and distance freestyle events.

Kawaguchi, a senior at Cary High School, finished fifth in the 100-yard back and 10th in the 200-yard IM at the NCHSAA 4A State High School Championships, and owns top times of 1:47.86 in the 200-yard back and 3:59.91 in the 400-yard IM.

The junior nationals swimmer is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, and competed for MOR as part of the 16th-place 400 free relay at juniors this summer.

“I really enjoyed the swimmers on my trip to Eastern Michigan and the coaching staff has a history of successfully getting swimmers to improve throughout their college career. ” said Kawaguchi.
