Margaret Hoelzer Alleges Sexual Abuse as a Child

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama, September 16. IN an interview with the Associated Press published today, U.S. Olympic silver medalist Margaret Hoelzer, 25, alleges she was the victim of sexual abuse around 20 years ago.

According to the report, the interview was the first time Hoelzer has made that part of her life public.

"It's nerve-racking," Hoelzer told the Associated Press. "Some days I feel great about it, and I'm completely at peace with it, completely calm and ready to do this. Then, there are other days where I'm like, 'Oh my God, do I really want to do this?'"

The in-depth article continues with an explanation of her experience, while also reporting that the Hoelzer family took the alleged molester in front of a grand jury. Since there was no physical evidence, the grand jury elected not to indict the one-time family friend.
