EDISON, New Jersey, November 14. MARIST College's Greg Jablonski (Massapegqua, N.Y./ Holy Trinity) and Iona College's Amanda McCarthy (Berlin, CT/ Berlin) have been named the MAAC Men's and Women's Swimmers of the Week, respectively. Marist's Devon O'Nalty (East Hartford, CT/ East Hartford) and Loyola College's Megan Sterback (Sayville, N.Y./ Sayville) have been named the MAAC Men's and Women's Divers of the Week, respectively.
Jablonski, a junior, had a strong swim winning the 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.00), the 50-yard freestyle (22.16) and the 400-yard I.M (4:14.41). Jablonski lead to Red Foxes to a win over Fairfield University.
McCarthy, a junior, completed the week with five first place finishes. On Wednesday, she won the 100 (1:09.67) and 200 (2:34.53) breaststroke and the 200 I.M. (2:17.96) against Siena College. On Saturday, she won the 200 I.M. (2:35.87) and the 200 breaststroke (2:54.07).
O'Nalty, a junior, took first place in both diving events in the Red Foxes' 199-70 win over the Stags. Off the three-meter board he posted a winning score of 278.62, before topping the field in the one-meter event (247.95).
Sterback, a senior, won both the 1 and the 3-meter diving events at the Thomas Murphy Invitational. She scored a 225.45 on the one-meter board and a 367.58 on the three-meter board for the wins.
