Louisiana Division 1 High School State Championships

SULPHUR, Louisiana, November 23. AT the Louisiana Division 1 High School State Championships, Northshore and Jesuit walked away with state titles. On the girls' side, Northshore scored 376 points followed by Fontainebleau (211) and Skippers (202). The Jesuit boys tallied 364.5 points for first while Catholic took second (238) and Northshore finished third (210).

Girls Results
Fontainebleau won the 200 medley relay. Haley Goertz, Jessica Kopcso, Kara Kopcso, and Wesley Morton clocked a time of 1:51.97 for the win. K. Kopcso also won the 200 IM (2:09.04).

Heather Winn (Northshore) was a dual event winner in the 200 (1:54.54) and 500 (5:02.16) freestyles.

Mary Jabbia, Sarah Mazier, Taylor Tadlock, and Maria Reyes (Northshore) teamed up for a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:40.81).

J. Kopcso had individual wins in the 100 butterfly (58.33) and the 100 breaststroke (1:05.32).

Senior Colleen Donovan (Northshore) won the 100 freestyle with a time of 52.87. She joined Reyes, Jabbia, and Winn for a first-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay (3:40.14).

Boys Results
Jesuit won all three relays. Brian Carr, Tommy Barnett, Marc Dorsey, and Brennan Dorsey took first in the 200 medley relay (1:38.99). Carr also won the 200 (1:42) and 500 (4:38.13) freestyles.

Senior Ramsey Burch (Jesuit) had first-place finishes in the 50 (21.20) and 100 (47.42) freestyles. He teamed up with B. Dorsey, Jacob Scheon, and Barnett for a win in the 200 freestyle relay (1:29.13).

Colin Babcock (St. Paul's) won the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke with times of 1:52.95 and 57.80 respectively.

M. Dorsey, Daniel Dupre, Burch, and Carr closed the meet with a win in the 400 freestyle relay (3:14.78).
