MEADOW – The Long Island Aquatic Club claimed an 11-12 U.S. National Age Group record in the girls 400-yard freestyle relay this weekend.

The foursome of Chloe Stepanek (54.03), Isabela Antoniuk (53.68), Briana Gellineau (53.73), and Madeline Competello (54.09) put up a time of 3:35.53 in the event at the Cupid’s Challenge for the record.

That performance lowered the previous record of 3:35.90 set by Delaware’s Chelsey Liu (55.16), Bella Warner (53.79), Isabella Paoletti (54.68) and Chase Travis (52.27) live on SwimmingWorld.TV at the Speedo Tom Dolan Invitational in December.

Delaware’s swim originally smashed the 3:37.71 set by the Irvine Novaquatics’ team of Courtney Mykkanen, Taylor Newton, Carly Perri and Aislinn Light.
