Lockard Will be Inducted into the Ohio University Athletics Hall of Fame

ATHENS, Ohio, USA, June 23. THE University of Ohio Athletics Hall of Fame will induct three new members in September, including swimmer Amy Lockard (1990-93). The inductees will be honored at a banquet on September 23 and will be recognized the next day during halftime of Ohio’s football game with Kent State.

During her days as an Ohio athlete, Lockard won 11 Mid-American Conference titles, including a trio of championships in the 500 freestyle and as a member of the 800 free relay. She won two crowns each in the 200 free and 1,650 free and one championship in the 200 butterfly. Lockard also helped the Bobcats to three consecutive conference team titles.

An Academic All-American, Lockard still ranks in the Ohio top-10 in five events and sits fourth in the 200 fly and 1,000 free. Lockard will be joined as an inductee by Lewis Geter, a basketball standout from 1990-92, and Josh Ritchie, a track and cross country star from 1996-98.
