Lindsey Clary, Ohio State Put Exclamation Point On Columbus Sectionals

Lindsey Clary and her Ohio State teammates have been torching the pool at the 2015 Speedo Sectionals in Columbus, Ohio. OSU swimmers swimming with the Ohio State Swim Club have claimed nearly every individual victory at the meet. Clary has led the charge with five first-place finishes and one second-place finishes at the meet.

Tonight, Clary added another crown in the women’s 200-meter IM. Her 2:16.73 was too much for second-place finished Meg Bailey, who touched to a 2:19.73. Kerrigan Vargo wound up third in 2:22.03.

She followed that up with a dominant 16:35.01 win in the women’s 1500-meter free. Jessica Wolf was a distant second with a final time of 17:10.66. Kristin Harmon fell to third in 17:16.77.

Ohio State Swim Club filled out the top three spots in the men’s 200-meter IM, led by Chris DePietro’s 2:03.89 win. Andrew Appleby (2:04.83) took second, while Ian Reardon (2:06.29) rounded out the Buckeyes’ top three.

Christian Imbus took the top spot in the men’s 800-meter free in 8:28.77. Micah Dejonge silvered with an 8:36.41, and Imbus’s Cincinnati Marlins teammate Jonathan Prangley ended up third in 8:36.99.

Lauren Heller (56.49) pulled out a close win ahead of Kaitlyn Johnson (56.59) in the women’s 100-meter free. Macie McNichols took third in 56.85.

Ohio State’s Steffen Hillmer sprinted to a victory in the men’s 100-meter free with a 50.42 final time. Cameron Craig finished second in 51.28, while Andrew Henry ended up in third place in 51.46.
