Lauren Earp Among Winners in Final Night of Athens Sectionals

Lauren Earp moved up to claim first in the women’s 100-meter free with a 56.00 during finals of day four of the Long Course Speedo Sectionals in Athens, GA. Ali Deloof finished second with a 56.15, while Alexia Zevnik took third with a 56.46.

Michael Chadwick claimed first in the men’s 100-meter free with a final time of 48.87, dropping .51 seconds from his prelims time of 49.38. Geoff Cheah took second overall with a 49.81, while Joe Bonk was a close third with a 49.90.

Nicolas Fink claimed victory in the men’s 200-meter breaststroke with a 2:13.56, dropping 1.44 seconds off his prelims time of 2:15.00. Michael Duderstadt grabbed second with a 2:14.74, shaving off 3.43 seconds from his prelims time of 2:18.17. Dylan Bosch was third with a 2:16.10.

The women’s 200-meter breaststroke went to Annie Zhu who posted a 2:30.95 for first. Kayla Brumbaum claimed second with a 2:32.75, while Carolyn McCann rounded out the top three with a 2:35.04.

Hannah Moore turned in a 2:12.89 to finish first in the women’s 200-meter back, dropping .58 seconds from her prelims time of 2:13.47. Jillian Vitarius grabbed second with a final time of 2:14.19, and Hellenn Moffitt posted a 2:14.27 for third.

The men’s 200-meter back proved to be a close race with the top three finishers touching within .43 seconds of one another. Gregory Tarasevich posted the winning time with a 1:59.26. Hennessey Stuart and Luke Papendick battled for second with Stuart coming out victorious with a 1:59.60 over Papendick’s 1:59.69.
