Langbane Cup: Sara Nordenstam Does It Again, Norwegian Record in 200 IM

OSLO, Norway, May 31. A day after taking down a 24-year-old Norwegian record in the women's 400 IM, Sara Nordenstam snatched the national record in the 200 IM as well as the Langbane Cup held in Oslo.

Nordenstam stopped the clock in 2:18.58 while splitting the race: 30.52 (30.52), 1.07.42 (36.90), 1.45.20 (37.78), 2.18.58 (33.38). This time, the record wasn't nearly as ancient as Nordenstam clipped the 2:18.64 set by Anne-Marie Gulbrandsen in 2006.

Meanwhile, Gard Kvale put on a show on the men's side with wins in the 100 free (52.17), 200 free (1:57.34), 100 fly (56.85) and 200 IM (2:06.85).
