WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana, October 13. Lake Country Swim Team’s Madeline Barta, the 12th-ranked recruit out of Wisconsin in Collegeswimming.com‘s class of 2015 rankings, has verbally committed to Purdue University.

The Arrowhead High School senior specializes in backstroke and sprint free, with personal bests of 56.58 in the 100 back, 2:02.15 in the 200 back and 23.88 in the 50 free. Her personal best times in the backstroke events are just on the cusp of making the C final at the Big Ten Championships, and she should be a huge asset at dual meets where she can swim back, sprint free and multiple relays.
