Kyle Whitaker Tops National High School Record in 200 IM

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, February 28. IT didn't take long after Matt Thompson took the national high school record in the 200-yard IM from Nick D'Innocenzo before the original owner of the record heading into this competitive season staked his claim.

Chesterton junior Kyle Whitaker blitzed the Indiana State Championships with a time of 1:45.25. That performance edged the 1:45.27 Thompson set just a matter of an hour or so earlier at the Texas State Championships. Thompson's time will remain as the independent school standard.
